So, you’re engaged! Congratulations, it’s such an exciting time. We understand how keen you are to find your dream dress. But what should you do before booking your appointment?
Here 6 things to think about before you start…
Before you book your appointment with your chosen boutique find out the price of their wedding dresses. Boutiques have varying collections, ranging from ‘off the peg’ to high end designer and somewhere in between. Always check the price ties in with your budget to make sure you’re not completely disappointed when you arrive.
Look into the designers that the bridal boutique stocks before you visit. It’s super important to make sure the collections they stock, suit the style and vibe you are looking for.
Every bridal boutique is different. Find out how long your appointment will last. Some boutiques offer a pre-chat. It really helps to know what to expect and how long you will get to try on the dresses.
Number of Guests
This is something we get asked a lot. Many brides think they want more guests, but actually our experience over a number of years shows that most brides prefer to bring only one or two people. When deciding who to bring, make sure you have those people with you that you would want to share your special moment with if you found ‘the one.’
Most bridal boutiques charge 50% deposit when you order your dress and the remaining 50% is payable when you collect your dress. If you’re buying an ‘off the peg’ dress, you would be expected to pay for your dress in full at the time of finding it. Always check the payment terms before you visit.
It’s always worth checking if you are able to take photographs of the dresses at your appointment. At your appointment, it’s really important to go by the way a dress makes you feel and not from a picture on your phone. Many bridal shops don’t allow photos to be taken at your appointment for this very reason.
We hope you have found this useful. Don’t hesitate to find us on social media and pop over any questions you may have.
