Like many brides Pretty Bride Demi-Leigh was devastated to have to postpone her wedding due to lockdown.
Our aim during this tough time was to support our brides and try and help them both practically and emotionally. We shared regular positive posts on social media and encouraged brides to tell us how they were feeling.
Demi Leigh responded to one of our posts and Dress Me Pretty owner, Amy called her for a chat. Demi recently wrote to us about her experience and we just had to share it.
Here’s what Demi said…
“From the bottom of my heart I literally don’t have enough words to thank the Dress Me Pretty team enough, especially Amy and Jodie.
I first walked into Dress Me Pretty on their opening catwalk event. The shop was stunning, the dresses were out of this world and the staff were friendly and welcoming. From that moment on I knew I wanted to get my wedding dress from Dress Me Pretty.
Jodie helped me find my perfect dress. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to do whatever she could to help me find ‘the one’. I’m very self-conscious so was a little nervous on the run up to my appointment. I really had nothing to worry about as she made me feel so at ease, it was just amazing from start to finish. I walked into Dress Me Pretty wanting to lose 6 stone before my wedding day and came out loving the way I was. Jodie is truly amazing at what she does and just such a lovely genuine person.
I purchased my dress, collected and paid for everything before lockdown happened so from a business sense I had finished at Dress Me Pretty, but to Amy I was still one of her ‘Pretty Brides’ and she totally looked out for me during the devastation of having to postpone my wedding.
Amy put a social media post out asking how her brides were feeling. I reacted to it and didn’t think or expect anymore. Within an hour she had emailed me and within a few hours called me offering help and advice. Amy supported me through a tough time. I called her once I had a new wedding date, she was so happy for me. Amy is such a beautiful person inside and out and Dress Me Pretty definitely reflects that.
My Wedding has been postponed so to celebrate I purchased one of the bridesmaid dresses from the online clearance and arranged a social distancing photoshoot with my photographer.
On what should have been our wedding day, we celebrated the love with have for each other. We had a champagne breakfast, visited our venue and ended the day with the photoshoot where I got to wear a stunning dress. The day was crazy, but we actually enjoyed what should have been our wedding day.
Amy said to me during one of our phone calls “Love isn’t cancelled” and it is so true and stuck with me through this time of uncertainty.
My advice to anyone looking for a bridal boutique is ……book an appointment at Dress Me Pretty you definitely won’t be disappointed
To anyone who has had to postpone their wedding……Enjoy what should have been wedding day, make it special to you and celebrate the love you have for each other.
Because in the words of Amy
“Love isn’t Cancelled”
Demi-Leigh xx “
