Grace & Daniel’s Wedding

A Summer Wedding in A Lincolnshire Country House

Grace and Dan went to playschool together, they grew up together and had always been good friends. Grace told us how she secretly fancied Dan but as they were such good friends, she didn’t think anything would come of it. How wrong she was! It turned out that Dan secretly liked Grace too and at age 17 they finally started going out. They were childhood sweethearts and have now been together for 11 years!!

The Proposal

After 10 years together, Dan FINALLY popped the question. Christmas is their favourite time of year so Dan surprised Grace with a trip to Berlin. Every Christmas they have a city break so Grace had no idea what was about to happen. When they arrived at their hotel room there were rose petals all over the bed. Grace told us how Dan started fumbling around in his rucksack and gave her a present. It was a book of pictures and memories from the last 10 years and at the bottom of each page he had written a little poem. On the last page it said “So here I am on one knee to ask …will you marry me?” When she looked up, Dan was on one knee holding the most beautiful engagement ring. Grace told us that she cried for hours afterwards. (We’re presuming they were happy tears Grace!!)

The Big Day

Grace and Dan were married at Stubton Hall, a grand house in Lincolnshire, set in acres of gardens and parkland. The couple were blown away by the venue’s beauty from the first time they visited. They loved the fact that all their family and friends could stay over after the wedding and they told us they couldn’t have wished for a better experience.

Grace told us how surprisingly calm she felt on the morning of her wedding, although she did say that might be down to the Prosecco! She was so excited to marry Dan and see him at the end of the aisle.

Grace’s most precious memory of the day was when she walked down the grand staircase linking arms with her dad, ready to marry the man of her dreams. She told us “Saying I do to my best friend was even more special than I ever imagined”

Grace’s Dress Me Pretty Experience

“I had the most amazing experience! When I booked the dress appointment Amy was so warm and friendly on the phone that it actually felt like I was chatting to a friend. I had been to a few boutiques already and had no luck in finding ‘the one’. Amy instantly put me at ease on the phone and asked what type of style I was looking for. When I arrived at the appointment, Amy and Kerry were so welcoming and had already pulled out a few dresses that we had discussed on the phone. My mum and I then looked at the amazing selection and picked out a few more. My dress was the 4th one I tried on but as soon as I put it on, I just knew because me and my mum started crying! It was a beautiful strapless fit and flare dress which we then customised with some off the shoulder straps – the style I had always wanted! From start to finish, the experience was amazing and so personalised. I’m proud to be a ‘pretty bride’ and would love to do it all again!”

“The Dress”

Grace wore our Erin dress by Stella York. She told us how incredible she felt. “I never thought I would be able to pull off a figure-hugging dress, but the fit and flare style was very flattering and pulled me in in all the right places, I just want to wear it again!

Grace’s advice for Brides-to-Be

“The day goes by so quickly. Soak up every last moment and don’t forget to take some time out for just you and your husband to appreciate everything that is going on around you.”
